1958 Bandai, Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible in Original Box

1958 Bandai, Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible in Original Box

Gorgeous creme and green tin litho Ford Fairlane 2-door convertible by Bandai. Super clean near mint condition complete with high grade (EXC+ to NM) original box. Beautiful car, accurately designed.

Car is all tin litho with embossed trunk, hood and door. Powered by front wheel friction drive motor. Creme body accentuated with silver and gold side molding. Chassis is solid black with high relief silver lithoed details (including Bandai trademark and "Made In Japan").

Combination two tone evergreen and mint green interior with front/rear benchseats and rear cowl. Dashboard was intricately detailed to include such things as numbers on the speedometer(up to 90mph), floor mats, and gauges. Steering wheel is polished tin. Three section polished tin windshield frame has original blue tinted celluloid windshield.

Polished tin also includes accurately detailed wrap-around front and rear bumpers, double headlights, double taillights, and hood ornament. Tires are solid black rubber with raised metal whitewall, spoked centers. The "FORD" name was very lightly lithoed twice on each wheel around the center hub.

The box features an elegant panel-wide illustration of the Fairlane 500 with catalog number, auto model & name, plus Bandai trademark. These were repeated in simpler and smaller versions on each box apron. One of the box bottom aprons was stamped "CREME" to indicate the color of the auto inside, but now it also verifies that it's correct for the toy. On that same side is its original 89¢ price sticker.

Size: 7-5/8".
